Frequently Asked Questions

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme found in every living cell and plays a vital role in how your body produces energy, repairs DNA, and maintains healthy cellular function. As we age, natural NAD+ levels gradually decline, which may contribute to fatigue, slower recovery, reduced mental clarity, and other signs associated with aging. NAD+ therapy is an advanced wellness treatment designed to replenish these essential cellular levels through intravenous infusion or intramuscular injection. By restoring NAD+, the body can better support healthy metabolism, cognitive performance, and overall vitality. At ReVita Glow MedSpa, NAD+ therapy is offered as part of our longevity and wellness philosophy, helping you optimize how you feel from the inside out. *** Please, note, a comprehensive medical consultation is performed before treatment to determine whether NAD+ therapy is appropriate for your individual health needs.

NAD+ Therapy may help support: • Increased cellular energy production • Enhanced mental clarity, focus, and concentration • Healthy aging and cellular repair • Improved physical endurance and recovery • Reduced feelings of fatigue • Better metabolic function • Support for stress resilience • Overall wellness and vitality Many patients report feeling more energized, mentally refreshed, and better able to maintain their daily performance after completing a treatment series.

Our IV infusion delivers NAD+ directly into the bloodstream, allowing for gradual administration over time. This method is ideal for individuals seeking comprehensive cellular support and higher-dose therapy.

Treatment begins with a professional consultation and review of your medical history. During your infusion, you can relax in one of our comfortable treatment chairs while our experienced clinical team monitors your comfort throughout the session. Infusion time varies depending on the prescribed dose. Some individuals notice benefits after their first treatment, while others experience the greatest improvements after a series of sessions. Our provider will recommend a personalized treatment schedule based on your wellness goals. During an initial consultation, you will be asked about all prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, supplements, injections, and current medical treatments to determine your eligibility of receiving NAD+ IV therapy. NAD+ IV therapy has not been adequately studied for interactions with many medications. Certain medications or treatments may require additional evaluation or clearance from your prescribing physician or specialist. Additional medical review may be required if you are currently receiving: • Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or other cancer-directed treatment • Immunosuppressive therapy • Insulin or other glucose-lowering medications • Blood pressure medications or vasodilators • Anticoagulants or antiplatelet medications • Multiple prescription medications or treatment for significant chronic medical conditions Do not discontinue or change any prescribed medication in order to receive NAD+ therapy. We will review your medication list, medical history, and current treatment plan to determine whether NAD+ IV therapy is appropriate for you.

Our practice is founded by experienced clinical nursing professionals with extensive backgrounds in acute care and Evidence Based medicine. Every wellness therapy is delivered with patient safety, clinical excellence, and personalized care at the forefront. Whether your goal is increased energy, improved cognitive performance, enhanced recovery, or proactive healthy aging, our team develops individualized treatment plans designed around your unique needs.

At ReVita Glow, you’ll be closely monitored by our Registered Nurses throughout your infusion for comfort and any side effects. Common Side Effects Some individuals may experience temporary symptoms during or shortly after an NAD+ IV infusion. These may include: • Nausea • Flushing or feeling warm • Headache or a sensation of head pressure • Lightheadedness or dizziness • Muscle cramping • Tingling sensations • Abdominal discomfort or cramping These symptoms may be related to the infusion rate and individual tolerance. If discomfort occurs during treatment, the infusion may be slowed or paused while you will be assessed by your nurse. Symptoms associated with infusion intolerance generally improve after the infusion rate is reduced or the infusion is discontinued. IV Site Reactions As with any intravenous treatment, mild irritation may occur at the IV insertion site. Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, bruising, or soreness may develop during or after treatment. Please notify us immediately if you experience significant pain, burning, swelling, or other discomfort around the IV site during your infusion. After the IV is removed, mild bruising or tenderness may persist for a short period. A cool compress may be recommended when appropriate. Less Common or Potentially Serious Reactions Although less common, more significant reactions can occur. These may include vomiting, pronounced changes in heart rate or blood pressure, chest discomfort or pressure, shortness of breath, chills or shaking, or an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction. Please, notify us immediately if you develop unusual or significant symptoms during treatment. The infusion may need to be stopped and additional assessment or treatment provided.

You may be wondering whether taking an NAD+ supplement can provide the same experience as receiving NAD+ intravenously. Oral supplements and IV therapy use different approaches to supporting NAD+-related pathways, and each has its own considerations. • Absorption & Delivery: oral products commonly contain NAD+ precursors such as nicotinamide riboside (NR), niacinamide, or nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN). These compounds are taken by mouth, absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract, and metabolized before becoming available for use in the body's NAD+ pathways. IV therapy takes a different route. NAD+ is administered directly into the bloodstream, bypassing gastrointestinal absorption. However, how intravenously administered NAD+ is distributed, metabolized, and utilized by different tissues is complex and continues to be studied. • Speed of Administration: oral supplements are generally taken consistently over time as part of a daily wellness routine. IV NAD+ is delivered directly into the circulation during a scheduled infusion. Because NAD+ is typically administered slowly and individual tolerance varies, an infusion may take several hours. Some individuals report subjective effects following treatment, while others may notice little or no immediate difference. Individual experiences vary, and specific wellness or longevity benefits from IV NAD+ have not been conclusively established. • Convenience: oral supplements offer the convenience of at-home use and are generally less expensive than IV therapy. They may appeal to individuals who prefer to incorporate NAD+-related supplementation into their regular wellness routine. IV therapy requires an appointment, clinical assessment, IV placement, and monitoring by a licensed healthcare professional. Some individuals may choose to incorporate both approaches into a broader wellness plan; however, oral supplementation should not be represented as proven to “maintain” the effects of an NAD+ infusion because this has not been established. • Quality & Clinical Oversight: the quality and composition of dietary supplements can vary between manufacturers. When choosing a supplement, it is important to select products from reputable manufacturers that provide appropriate quality testing. With NAD+ IV therapy, the product is administered in a clinical environment using a prescribed dose and established preparation and administration procedures. Patients can also be monitored throughout treatment for infusion-related symptoms or adverse reactions. So, Which Approach Is Right for You? There is no single approach that is appropriate for everyone. Your goals, medical history, medications, lifestyle, treatment preferences, and overall health should all be considered. NAD+-related supplements may offer a convenient option for individuals interested in incorporating supplementation into their wellness routine, while NAD+ IV therapy provides direct intravenous administration with clinical supervision. Healthy lifestyle practices—including regular physical activity, adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, and limiting excessive alcohol consumption—also play an important role in supporting overall metabolic and cellular health. Compounded NAD+ IV preparations are not FDA-approved to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. Evidence regarding the clinical benefits of NAD+ IV therapy for wellness, anti-aging, or longevity remains limited, and individual experiences may vary. A consultation with a qualified healthcare professional can help determine whether NAD+ IV therapy, supplementation, or another approach is appropriate for you.
